Healing is an art and a science. But it’s also more than that. It’s not just a way to “fix” problems or improve upon ourselves. It’s a way to go deeper – to know ourselves deeper at Soul-level and all the gifts and characteristics we were blessed with when we came into existence and as we have evolved over time.
Why? Well, let’s look at what healing is…
Healing is defined as “the process of returning to health.” It is essentially the releasing or clearing away of all that is causing our difficulties or problems, so we can return to a state of health, as we once were.
What do you notice about that statement?
We are RETURNING to what we once were – to health, happiness, wealth, abundance, or anything positive you can think of. We are not becoming something new. We are simply returning to what we have ALWAYS been, and healing is that journey to wholeness, the return to that wonderful aspect of ourselves that we once were and KNOW we can be once again.
And yes, it is very much a PROCESS. It’s never something that happens overnight. As much as we would all love to flip that switch that sets everything right for us again, we must realize that the journey to return to that perfect state of wholeness and the learning that we experience and awareness we receive during that journey are just as valuable, if not more so, than the healing itself.
And these issues, or “problems,” that arise for us are not really problems, as we often view them and like to refer to them. They’re not something that needs to be solved. Rather, they are something to be explored, to be looked at on a deeper level and the meaning they hold for us. However, it is precisely these “problems” that motivate and drive us to seek healing for them, so they really do hold great value for us and actually do us a great service, even if we cannot see it at the time.
Just taking this perspective on things, even if only momentarily, gives us the opportunity to look at our problems from a fresh perspective – one that may help us rather than harm us and one that may actually be a much needed solution in our lives, whether or not we realize it. Looking at our difficulties in this manner also allows us to surpass the fear that may be preventing us from facing our issues head on.
So, I invite you to take a good, long look around you at the things in your life that are not as good as you would like them to be and how you would like to see them improve. Those are all areas in your life that are in need of healing. But that doesn’t ever have to be a bad thing. What do you see when you look at them at a deeper level? What meaning is there behind it all? What greater purpose do they serve? What is there for you to learn rather than to fear?
Remember, healing is a journey – YOUR beautiful, fantastic, amazing journey through which you can learn more about yourself, lift the veil of illusion that is NOT yourself, and finally, return to your TRUE SELF.

Hi Sallie,
What a beautiful reflection! Healing doesn’t have to be something to “fear”; it may be as gentle as re-membering and allowing for our true brilliance to shine!
You’re absolutely right Joy. It’s all about getting back to who we are. Thanks for reading and commenting! :~)
